This collage of Rittenhouse was one of the largest in the series – challenging in terms of finding large enough patches of color in my source magazines. It started with a loose drawing made on a bright day in the park. I started to experiment here with having disjunctive images (of a crowd of people) make up the texture of the fence, wanting to introduce the strange into the familiar. I’m interested in the way non-bodily presences surround us in our physical world all the time, embedded in our own and others’ consciousnesses.
